(Not finished with outline)
Thesis: Photography and videography gives a voice to those who do not have one.
Introduction:
- Photography and videography allows for someone to express what they are going through or how they feel without having to stand in front of a crowd
- Photographers and videographers are another means of communication for these people. Documentarians share the story of a person or a group of people.
- These people do not have a voice either because they are a minority or they do not have the power in their community.
- “A picture speaks a thousand words”

Photography examples:
Great Depression:
- This image is depicting a Woman with her children holding onto her during the Great Depression. Photography during the Great Depression gave a glimpse into the lives of those that suffered through it. Just by looking at this Woman and her tattered clothes with her children hanging on to her shows that she is not happy. This photo along with many other photos from the Great Depression have very similar characteristics such as a stern face and a lot of images have children in them. What could these people say that would be as powerful as these images showing their struggle. A visual is much more emotional and meaningful then someone writing about the struggles.
Refugee:
Videography:
- Gives a voice to the scared or to someone who needs a voice
- documentaries such as: The Dragon Lives Here interview people who have had Heroin addictions or have lost people from heroin addictions
- This gives a voice to someone who may have a heroin addiction. the goal is to bring awareness and to help someone who may be struggling.
